Ceragon
FibeAir Family of Licensed Ethernet Bridges
The
Ceragon FibeAir family enables rapid and
cost-effective high-capacity connectivity for
carriers, both in the cellular and fixed
operator markets, for private networks and
enterprises.
Mobile Cellular Infrastructure – Ceragon’s
FibeAir product family is an optimal solution
for mobile cellular networks, which require
higher capacity due to an increase in
subscribers, cell sites and data rich
applications. Ceragon’s built-in ADM
reduces the cost and complexity of SDH ring
topologies and enables more efficient network
expansion. As an intelligent network
element, FibeAir offers a smooth migration path
from existing PDH to SONET/SDH network
functionality and to next generation ATM and IP.
Fixed Networks – To bridge the broadband access
gap between end-user demands and the core
network infrastructure, Ceragon’s FibeAir
product family offers carriers high-capacity
wireless metropolitan ring and PTP solutions in
the core network. Ceragon’s FibeAir
delivers Internet access and integrated
high-speed data, video and voice traffic in a
cost-effective manner.
Private Networks and Enterprises – The modular
FibeAir is ideal for private networks, such as
educational and financial institutions, utility
companies, government and corporate campuses,
providing carrier-class voice ATM, IP private
networks and IP + TDM direct connections. |

Gigabit
Ethernet Radio (60 GHz)
|
|

Ceragon FibeAir 10060 Digital Radio
System — an easy-to-deploy,
low-cost solution that supports ultra-high capacity traffic.
The license-free 60 GHz band of the Ceragon FibeAir 10060
is exempt from coordination and licensing requirements, and
is suitable for problematic frequency congestion areas,
offering low-cost installation by avoiding spectrum
licensing and approval processes. The 60 GHz radio is ideal
for secure transmission over short distances (500-800m) and
enables outstanding frequency re-use, due to atmospheric
absorption and the use of narrow beam width antennas.
Ceragon FibeAir 10060 enables service providers and private
network operators to create scalable and flexible networks
in point-to-point, cascaded, ring, or mesh topologies, and
can also be used in Hot Standby configurations.
Potential applications include:
• Hi-capacity Wide (WAN) and Metropolitan Area
Network (MAN) connections from fiber POPs to nearby
buildings
• LAN backbones between buildings within a campus,
for high-speed data connections.
• Supports centralized IT, VLANs, VPNs, remote backup
& administration, video conferencing.
• Ideal for redundant paths of fiber, copper or
free-space optic links

Ceragon FibeAir 4800 Family
|
|
|
Ceragon
FibeAir 4800 product family is a carrier-class, high
capacity, low cost point-to-point broadband wireless
system. It operates in the license-exempt 2.4- 5.8
GHz bands and is suitable for service providers and
enterprises that require immediate deployment and
quick return on investment.
FibeAir 4800 product family carries Fast Ethernet
and TDM services over license-exempt bands,
effectively connecting voice and data over a single
link. The system ensures low BER, as well as low
latency and full compliance with E1/T1 interface
jitter and wander requirements.
FibeAir 4800 enables direct connection of existing
equipment, such as LANs and PBX systems, thus
eliminating the need for additional external
equipment. FibeAir 4800 product family is a
split-mount system consisting of an IDU, ODU and
antenna on each side of the link.
|
|
Two types of IDUs are available: IDU-E with 1 x
10/100BT and 1, 2 x E1/T1, or IDU-C (Carrier Class) with 2 x
10/100BT and 1, 2, 4 x E1/T1, power redundancy and optional
1 + 1 protection. Two types of ODUs are available:
ODU with integrated 1ft antenna, or ODU with N-type
connector for external antenna.
Typical Applications:
Campus Connectivity: Transparent connection of
enterprise LAN and PBX systems across various campuses,
which reduces communication costs, operating expenses and
maintenance requirements.
Remote Site Connectivity: Transparent connection of
enterprise LAN and PBX systems across various
campuses, which saves communication costs, operating
expenses, and maintenance requirements.
Wireless ISP Backhaul: Wireless Internet Service
Providers (WISPs) use backhaul to connect their Point of
Presence (POP) to their network operation centers.
Using FibeAir 4800, WISPs have a higher capacity, with a
range up to an 80 km range, and bundled connectivity, within
the same cost-effective package.
Hotspot Backhauling: Provides a more robust and
cost-effective alternative to the last mile connection
between
the Wi-Fi access point and the data network than the more
expensive T1/E1 leased lines.
Cellular Backhauling: Connects between cellular base
stations and cellular base station controllers.
Designed for
cellular backhauling applications, providing up to 6xT1/E1
interfaces and Ethernet traffic for maintenance and control.
Wi-Fi and WiMax Backhauling: Provides a more robust
and cost-effective alternative to leased lines, for the last
mile connection between the Wi-Fi/WiMax access point and the
data network.
Ceragon FibeAir 4824 2.4 GHz Wireless Bridge
Ceragon FibeAir 4824 — a carrier-class, hi-capacity, low
cost, point-to-point broadband wireless system.
Operating in unlicensed 2.4 GHz bands, it is suitable for
service providers and enterprises requiring immediate
deployment and quick ROI. Ceragon FibeAir 4824 carries
Fast Ethernet and TDM services over 2.4 GHz license exempt
bands, effectively connecting voice and data over a single
link. The interface ensures low BER, low latency, and full
compliance with E1/T1 interface jitter/wander requirements.
Ceragon FibeAir 4824 enables direct connection of existing
equipment, such as LANs and PBX systems, which eliminates
the need for additional external equipment.
